Andrew M Jones PhD is Professor of Applied Physiology and Assistant Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Impact at the University of Exeter, UK. Prof Jones is internationally recognized for his expertise in the following areas: 1) control of skeletal muscle oxidative metabolism; 2) causes of exercise-related fatigue; 3) respiratory physiology, especially the kinetics of pulmonary gas exchange; and 4) endurance sports performance physiology and nutrition. He has authored more than 300 original research and review articles. According to Google Scholar, these works have received >29,000 total citations to date and he has a personal h-index of 88. Jones is a Fellow of ACSM, BASES, ECSS and The Physiological Society. He is a former international distance runner and has served as consultant physiologist to UK Athletics, the English Institute of Sport, the Gatorade Sports Science Institute and Nike Inc.
