Lucy Trochet is the Governance Manager at World Rowing, responsible for governance and integrity, including safeguarding, prevention of competition manipulation, ethics and governance related initiatives. She has been instrumental in the implementation of World Rowing’s Policy & Procedures for Safeguarding Participants in Rowing from Harassment and Abuse. She is the safeguarding lead at World Rowing and leads their work in prevention initiatives as well as case management. Lucy joined World Rowing in 2015 following a 13-year career in finance in the airline industry including senior roles based in London, Paris and Tokyo. Lucy holds a BA (honours) in Accounting & Finance and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). She is currently studying part-time for a master’s degree in Sports Law, and has studied the legal aspects of safeguarding and harassment and abuse in sport as part of her Masters. As a mother of three children who participate in sport at competition level, safeguarding is an issue of great importance to her. Outside of her World Rowing safeguarding responsibilities, she has been active in her local community with regards to safeguarding, raising awareness in the school environment as well as at grass root sport level.
