Dr Néstor Vicente Salar holds a degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and is a registered member of the Official College of Dietitians-Nutritionists of the Valencian Community. He specialises in Sports Nutrition and earned both his Bachelor’s and PhD in Biology, with a focus on Molecular Biology, receiving an extraordinary award for his doctoral work. Currently, Dr Vincente Salar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition at Miguel Hernández University of Elche and a researcher at the Institute of Bioengineering. He also teaches postgraduate courses at the Universities of Barcelona and Valencia, and collaborate internationally with the University of Guadalajara (Mexico) and the National University of Colombia. As a sports nutritionist, he works with ATP, WTA, and ITF tennis players, including Fran Cerúndolo, Tomás Etcheverry, Karen Khachanov, Mariano Navone, Vilius Gaubas, and Juanma Cerúndolo. In the past, he has advised elite athletes such as Carlos Alcaraz, David Ferrer, Nico Almagro, Sara Errani, Mayar Sherif, Nico Terol, Jaume Masiá, and members of Elche CF (First Division) from 2014 to 2021. Dr Vincente Salar was honoured with the Sports Nutrition Innovation Award at the VIII UPSANA Gala. Academically, he has contributed to 31 conference presentations, 7 book chapters, and 39 peer-reviewed journal articles, and have supervised numerous master’s theses and PhD thesis.
