Before her PhD Anna had a position as sport dietitian in Team Denmark for 15 years where she besides working with performance enhancement focussed on prevention of nutritional complications in elite athletes, especially menstrual dysfunction and eating disorders in female athletes. She developed and implemented the mandatory Basic Sport Nutrition course for Danish elite athletes, their coaches and parents. Together with clinical psychologists she developed and implemented a national evaluation and treatment program for Danish elite athletes with eating disorders. In addition, Anna has acted as sports dietitian for the Swedish Olympic Committee and has contributed to sports nutrition consensus statements of the International Association of Athletics Federations (2019), and the Federation Internationale of Natation Associations (2014), as well as book chapters in Clinical Sports Nutrition (2015; 2023) and the Sports Injuries: Prevention, Diagnosis, Treatment and Rehabilitation (2024). Anna is a Professor at the Department of Sport Science, the Linnaeus University, Sweden. She is the initiator of and lead the European College of Sport Science Special Interest Group of REDs. She is co-author of the IOC 2018 and 2023 REDs consensus statements. She is member of the medical advisory board of the Oslo Health Centre of Sport.
