Richard Driscoll has been at the forefront of anti-doping in sport since 1990, earning a reputation as an expert in doping control. His dedication was recognised in 2016 when he was awarded an MBE by HM Queen Elizabeth II for services to anti-doping in sport. As an International Testing Agency trainer and a Doping Control Advisor to UK Anti-Doping, Richard has played a pivotal role in developing training courses for doping control officers worldwide. For the ITA he has trained both new and experienced DCOs in locations such as Lausanne, Paris, Baku, Shanghai and Andorra and trained DCOs for WADA RADOs in Kuwait, Saudi, Bangkok, Maldives, Brunei, Jakarta & Kazakhstan. Additionally, he has contributed to key ITA publications, including the IDCO course, Witnessing Chaperone course, the Paris 2024 anti-doping manual and the DCO Guide. Richard has served as a European Athletics Doping Control Delegate since 2007 and since 2023 as a World Rugby Anti-Doping Commissioner. He is also a member of the European Athletics Medical and Anti-Doping Commission. He has attended numerous major events including the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and various World Championships, he continues to shape the future of clean sport through education, training and expert oversight.
