Dr. Therese Fostervold Mathisen is an associate professor at Østfold University College (Norway), and president of the Norwegian Society for Eating Disorders. She is a dietitian and an exercise physiologist and has specific expertise in sport nutrition and in the treatment of eating disorders. She lectures in nutrition, physical activity for health, eating disorders, and research methods. Research interests are associations with and effects of nutrition and physical activity behavior on physical and mental health, including pregnancy outcomes, symptoms of REDs, and eating disorders in sport. Her research includes mixed methods and different designs like interventions, observational-, cross-sectional- and longitudinal designs. She is a former national volleyball player (setter position) and a national powerlifter.
