Dr. Claudia Reardon holds an MD degree from the University of Wisconsin (USA) School of Medicine and Public Health, where she also completed psychiatry residency training. She is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin and serves as consulting sports psychiatrist for University of Wisconsin athletes. Dr. Reardon serves as Co-Chair of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Consensus Group on Mental Health in Elite Athletes. She also is Co-Director of the IOC Diploma and Certificate Programs in Mental Health in Elite sport and is on the Academic Advisory Board of the IOC Diploma Program in Sports Medicine. She has published and presented widely on a number of sports psychiatry related topics and is Editor of the 2022 book “Mental Health Care for Elite Athletes” and Co-Editor of the 2013 book “Clinical Sports Psychiatry: An International Perspective”. Dr. Reardon has served on the International Society for Sports Psychiatry (ISSP) Board of Directors since 2010. Under the auspices of the ISSP, she developed a portable, didactic sports psychiatry curriculum for use by learners around the world who are interested in the field, and an ISSP program that awards a “Certificate of Additional Training in Sports Psychiatry”.
