Brian Hainline, MD, is a neurologist who specializes in pain medicine and sports neurology. Brian has been an active voice in presenting sport as a public good, having served as the NCAA’s first Chief Medical Officer from 2013 through May 2024. In this role, he reshaped the professional and amateur National Governing Body approach to sport. He is a leading international voice in pain medicine, mental health in sport, and sport-related concussion, and is co-chair of the 2nd IOC Consensus Meeting on Mental Health in Elite Athletes. Brian is currently vice president of the International Tennis Federation, and is immediate past president of the US Tennis Association. He is Clinical Professor of Neurology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Brian is a consultant, speaker and writer for the platform “Medicine and Sport for Life,” which addresses a pro-active and holistic approach to human development and excellence.
