Anne van der Made (MD, PhD) obtained his medical degree at the University of Amsterdam. He subsequently worked as a researcher at Aspetar Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar, as part of his PhD research on hamstring tendon injury and to gain international experience within an IOC Research Centre. After returning to Amsterdam and completing his training in orthopedic surgery, he currently works as a clinician-researcher at the Amsterdam UMC (IOC Research Centre) and Tergooi Medical Center. His clinical and research interests focus on lower extremity injury and sports traumatology, with a particular emphasis on muscle and tendon injuries, including proximal hamstring tendon avulsions. His works aims to improve evidence-based treatment strategies, with the goal of optimizing recovery and return to sport/work for athletes and active patients.
