My goals in sports nutrition
To successfully complete and utilize to the fullest the credibility of the IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition; by doing so contribute to athletics and the wellbeing of an individual.
My own sporting background
I started running at the age of ten; received a Track & Field Scholarship to the USA in 1982; represented Ireland in the 1988 Olympics Marathon; 2000 USA record holder 800m masters (40-45years) 2000 World Record holder 4x800m masters (40-45years); 2004 New York City winner of the inaugural More Marathon for women over 40 years of age.
My favourite sporting moment or heroes
Lillian Board (1948-1970) who taught me the true meaning of courage; I was eleven when she died of bowl cancer at the young age of twenty two. Watching her say goodbye to her fans had a lasting impression on my life. Lillian was an Olympic 400m silver m
My favourite foods
Baked potato, fresh fruit, steamed vegetables, pasta, orange juice, Weetabix and Cadbury chocolate on my trips home to Ireland
Other things of interest about me
I have six sisters and two brothers and I am the Aunt of thirty four nieces and nephews; all under the age of twenty two. I travel back to Ireland on regular bases. I love to read. My passion in life; is life.
